Vélodyssée cycling route
Would you like to be active and relax at the same time? Then consider a cycling holiday. The Vélodyssée cycling route is a total of 1200 km long, but can also be completed in stages.  Such as the part through Aquitaine (388 km). This is a lovely, varying route for both sportive and recreational cyclers.

Brittany and Basque Country
The Vélodyssée-route first leads through Brittany, the Vendee and Charente-Maritime. Subsequently it follows the natural coastline of Aquitaine. Between Royan and the Grave you pass by the mouth of the river Garonne. This area has characteristic coastal resorts for you to discover:  Soulac-sur-Mer, Hourtin, Carcans and Lacanau.

Located southwards are the Bassin d’Arcachon, with its famous oyster ports and the forest of Les Landes de Gascogne. Further, you pass by the enormous lakes of Biscarosse and Aureilhan. You can relax in the stylish coastal resort of Hossegor or at the harbour of Capbreton. The route also includes part of Basque Country, to appeal to the calve muscles. Here, you cycle through little coastal villages such as Bidart and you can visit the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
