General Running a B&B

Make your B&B attractive for business travellers: 5 tips

Bedandbreakfast.eu; Make your B&B attractive for business travellers

One out of three B&B guests is a business traveller. Ever more professionals prefer a bed & breakfast over a hotel for their business trips. Thus it would be smart to not only focus on tourists, but also on business travellers. Five tips.

1) A business B&B can also be personal
Imagine spending the entire day in a congress centre; would you rather return to an anonymous hotel afterwards, or to a bed & breakfast where you’ll be cordially welcomed by your host or hostess? Whether you are aiming at day trippers or business travellers, always make sure your B&B has a personal feel to it. Both in your interior and in your service.

Free Wi-Fi is naturally included in a business bed & breakfast.

2) Make sure your bed and breakfast is equipped for business travellers
Luxury beds, private sanitary provisions, and a sitting area in the room where guests can work: business travellers require higher demands from a B&B. Your accommodation should at least be able to compete with a higher-end hotel room. Free Wi-Fi is naturally included.

3) Invest in sustainability
Ever more companies are applying a Corporate Social Responsibility policy. In this policy, B&Bs that work sustainably, have a clear advantage. You can for example invest in a water saving shower or in energy efficient LED lighting and serve an organic breakfast. A way of showing that you work sustainably is by registering your B&B for a sustainability label, such as the EU Ecolabel.

4) Present yourself as a business B&B on Bedandbreakfast.eu
Include in your description and keywords that your B&B is suitable for business travellers. Mention for example the free Wi-Fi, the workspace for guests, your meeting room, the beamer, or the option to have an early breakfast. Use key words such as ‘business”, “meetings”, “meeting room”, “Wi-Fi” and “laptop”. Also let these elements be reflected in your pictures. Place a picture of a bed and breakfast guest behind a laptop for example, or a picture of the fully equipped meeting room in your bed and breakfast.

5) Do you have a meeting room? Check the box at facilities
Do you have a meeting room, then don’t forget to indicate this with your facilities! That way, when a visitor on Bedandbreakfast.eu filters on ‘meeting room’ your bed & breakfast will pop up.
